PhreQuency Instant Messages
The
new IM feature allows you to participate in a live, real-time
network-wide chatroom as well as private chats with other members
of the network. You can find the new IM feature at the bottom of
your screen, in the new IM bar.
Clicking this button will pop the IM out of the IM bar and allow you to start chatting. The IM bar is on every page and so you don't have to worry about it closing, if you navigate away from any page.
If you don't want to appear online, you don't have to! Click the little man on the right of the IM bar to appear offline. Green means that you are online.
Red means that you are signed out of IM and are appearing to be offline.
You can also pop your IM feature out of your page. In order to do this, click the Pop Out button inside your IM feature
When you sign in to a network with the IM feature on it, you will automatically appear as "online". In the right column, a list of members currently appears. Clicking on their profile photo pops up a dialogue that allows you to view their profile on the network or initiate a private IM with them. When the member accepts, the two of you will be placed in your own separate chatroom. You can definitely decline a private IM request! You can navigate back to the main chatroom at any time by clicking the Main tab.
